Recent trends in drug discovery and its developments

National College of Pharmacy is conducting a staff devlopment programme on Recent trends in drug discovery and its developments to identify the lead molecules to treat various ailments. The main objective of Staff Development Programme is to provide a common platform for academicians, R&D Executives, Scientists, Pharma Engineers and Industrialists to interact , deliberate, disseminate ideas and have sharing of knowledge in basic process involved in Drug Discovery.

Resource Persons

Eminent persons from both academics and industry will be engaged to provide in depth information through lectures and demonstrations/discussions on specialized topics.

Topics covered…………….

Drug Discovery:- Topics covered will include methods to identify lead molecules, different sources for the identification of lead molecules. Optimization of lead molecules and the latest development in the drug discovery.

Formulation Development:- Covering general introduction to various formulations, new formulations and the new excipients used for the stabilization of various formulations, drug delivery systems, nanotech approaches in the drug delivery and its evaluation procedures, new polymers used as drug carriers.

Analysis of Drug moiety:- Topics covered include advanced analytical techniques, method development and techniques of interpretation

Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice:- General Introduction to clinical trial, current trends in clinical research

Antony will inaugurate the KMCT Medical College Super Speciality Hospital in Kozhikode on Sunday.Inaugural function will be at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday feb-10 ,would be presided over by Industries Minister P.K. Kunhalikutty.Inaguration of PG Block of Pharmacy College will be done by Sri MK Raghavan M.P.

Pharmolsavam 2012

It has been decided to conduct Pharmolsavam 2012 at National College of pharmacy from March First week by KSSBCMA

B.Pharm, M.Pharm and Pharm D students of all member colleges of KSSBCMA, Government Medical Colleges, Amrita School of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of M.G University and Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences,Pariyaram can participate. In case students of courses other than those mentioned above participate in the competition that particular item of the institution concerned will be cancelled. The institution concerned will not be considered for overall championship.
All the applications for participation in the competition should be signed by the Principal of the institution.
Soft copies of applications for participation signed by the Principal are to be sent to pharmolsavam@gmail.com on or before 16-02-2012. Hard copies of the applications are to reach the Convenor, Programme Committee Pharmolsavam 2012, JDT Islam College of Pharmacy, Vellimadukunnu, Kozhikode – 673012 on or before 20-02-2012. No late application will be considered.
A student can participate only in a maximum of 5 individual items including off – stage items.
Only one student can participate from each College for an individual item.
Only one team can participate from one College in a group item.
Participants other than students from member colleges of KSSBCMA are to pay a registration fee Rs.150/- per single item and Rs.500/- for group item. Registration fee is to be sent as Demand Draft/ Cheque in favour of KSSBCMA payable at Chalakudy to the Convener, Programme Committee Pharmolsavam2012, JDT Islam College of Pharmacy,Vellimadukunnu , Kozhikode- 673012 on or before20– 02- 2012 .
Any change in participants in group items due to reasons like ill health are to be intimated by e-mail before 29-02-2012 3.00pm. No change will be permitted after 3.00pm on 29-02-2012.No change of participant will be entertained for single items under any circumstances. READ MORE>>>>>>
